Being a part of a branch brings like-minded people together from all walks of life and with masses of different skills. This is about textiles in all its forms from traditional methods to more contemporary processes.
We have beginners who just love looking at pieces and want to try and dip their toe in the water and people who are skilled artists in their own right ready to share their skills and passion.
Embroidery has taken us into the world of ceramics, knitting, felting, paperwork, design, painting, printmaking etc. It encompasses a myriad of techniques. There is something for everyone - it’s not just embroidery.
Being part of the Guild is not just about what we can get out of it but what others will get out of it now and in the future through the collection, bursaries, sponsorship, graduate programmes, exhibitions, publications etc. It is about having a national forum to keep the craft alive.
