Branch: Plymouth

Introduction: Plymouth Branch was founded in 1982, so we are a well-established and growing group of over 50 members.

Our members have various abilities ranging from complete beginners to experienced embroiders with skills just as varied.

While we concentrate mainly on hand work we are now starting to add other techniques to our programs. Though this depends mainly upon what our members wish to do, we are always willing to incorporate new ideas and techniques if enough members wish to try them.

You can always check out this years program to see if what we are doing interests you, or instead bring along something of your own to work on. We suggest you bring a small hoop, scissors and needles we provide the rest.

We are very fortunate in that our secretary has worked tirelessly at finding grants and funding for our group so that we are in the position of being able to provide each Member a free kit for each the day schools. Although a charge of £3.50 per meeting will be asked for as a Branch subscription.

Tea and coffee are also provided for a small charge and there is a rota of members who make cakes, the profit from their efforts, help support the Branch

We welcome new members and invite you to attend a maximum of 2 meetings before deciding whether to join the Guild which is open to all. There is no requirement as to level of expertise we are all willing to learn from each other, no one knows everything.

We have a wonderful light and airy room, essential for embroidery and there is a car park right outside and excellent bus links to get to Mutley Plain, so hopefully you should have no problems getting to the meetings.

Visitors are always assured of a warm welcome, no matter your age group, come along and see for yourself what we have to offer.
