Caitlin Faires- Guild Graduate in 2025 -celebrates the women who have shaped her life .

Caitlin studied at Bath Spa University. She says:
This project, Herbarium, is a quiet celebration of the women who have shaped my life. Each bloom in the work is drawn from a loved one’s favourite flower: symbols of resilience, beauty and connection. Working with print, embellishment and digital embroidery I have built layers of texture onto sheer fabric. Inspired by relationships between mothers, sisters, friends and mentors Herbarium honours the way these bonds grow and shift over time – delicate, enduring, and quietly powerful.

I used photography to capture the beauty of each flower, later taking the images into photoshop and manipulating them, before having them printed onto light silks and georgette fabrics. I wanted to enhance this project by introducing embroidery, which was initially to me merged with the prints, but each piece felt so powerful alone that I made the decision to keep them separate. The embroideries are a combination of digital and hand embroidery,
