The Duchess of Gloucester visits our Retrospective Exhibition

The Trustees were delighted to welcome the Guild’s patron, the Duchess of Gloucester, at Alexandra Palace on the opening day of our Graduates and Scholars Exhibition.

On Thursday, 5th October 2023, our Retrospective exhibition at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Alexandra Palace received a distinguished guest.

The Duchess of Gloucester was welcomed by Anthea Godfrey, our Artistic Director. Several of the Guild trustees were there to greet her, but much of her time was spent meeting and talking to our current Graduates and our most recent Scholar, all of whom were exhibiting at the show.

After admiring the Graduates and Scholar’s work, she moved on to see the Retrospective exhibition, where she was presented with a copy of the companion book.

The Exhibition was seen by a great many of the other visitors to the show over the course of the four days. The Guild was delighted with the response and we received many positive comments. We are grateful to all the contributing artists, some of who were able to spend time talking to visitors and signing copies of the book.

The Exhibition will be on show again at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate on the 16th-19th November – if you are in the area, do drop by. It’s well worth a visit!

(And there will be lots of bargains to find on the Guild Stand.)
