The deadline was September – and, after months of discussion, technical development, and testing, the Guild’s new website went live with two days to spare!
The Trustees commissioned the work last year. The company we have been working with is called The Lines Group, and they have spent time ensuring that the platform we are using is fully up to date, is securely integrated with the Guild database, and flexible enough to meet our needs. The public side of the site might not look that different to the old website – but the work done behind the scenes delivers an entirely different approach. It has not only enabled us to create a new and secure members only area, but also allows us to add future content with far less effort than before.
The site is very much a work in progress: not every page is completed yet, and the members’ area needs to pass a few more tests before we can open it up for members to use. But we are working to make that happen very soon, alongside adding the details for the rest of our affiliated stitch groups, loading more resources, and – of course – keeping our news pages up to date!
