Getting to know more about Alex Barton – Guild Graduate in 2024
Beginning with a love of floral photography 2024 Guild Graduate Alex Barton was inspired to explore the details of shape, texture and line with drawing and stitch.
“Petals On My Path” is an embroidered fashion fabric collection, with a strong and striking clean cut graphic aesthetic with the aspiration to explore florals in a new way.
The collection is coupled with soft and subtle textural details which puts a fresh spin on the inspired traditional florals.
The collection has a refined monochromatic black and white colour palette, parred back to emphasise tonal values, along with contrasting qualities and finish of fabric and thread. This modern collection becomes timeless and classic, designed to have a lasting appeal
To create this modern yet timeless collection Alex employed a range of embroidery processes, from traditional industrial machines such as the Cornely and Irish, through to digital embroidery using Wilcom software.
