The Embroiderers’ Guild aims to support both education about and research into all forms of Embroidery and associated textile art. The Collection includes an extensive library of books, pamphlets and patterns, stunning examples of historical techniques, work from around the world, and exemplary pieces from modern textile artists.
To help support that aim, the Guild is currently assembling reference and resource libraries for the use of its membership. There will be directories of techniques, products, embroidery tools, and fabric and thread; information about and examples of work from both recent and historically relevant textile artists; and a library of vintage inspirations – motifs and transfers, and issues of and articles from vintage magazines.
You will need to be a Guild member to access these resources in their entirety, but our Featured Resources page will give visitors a chance to see selected examples – perhaps an artist or two, a suggested technique, and a small gallery of motifs that can be downloaded for personal use.
