The Guild will be on Display at this year’s Knitting and Stitching shows!

This Year’s Knitting and Stitching Shows will take place on the 6th-9th October (Alexandra Palace) and the 17th-20th of November (In Harrogate).

The Embroiderers’ Guild will have three stands in the Textile Gallery – our main exhibition stand in TG2 and opposite will be the EG promotion stand with the graduates.

The main Stand will display pieces from our Members Challenge ‘My Lockdown Year’ and a selection of items from the Embroiderers’ Guild Collection which is held at Discover Bucks Museum Aylesbury. The theme this year is ‘Decades’ and aims to demonstrate the journey of embroidery and textile art in the UK over the last ninety years or so.

The other stand (opposite) will feature EMBROIDERY Magazine.  There will be an opportunity to buy and/or subscribe to one of the best textile art magazines which, this year, is 90 years old. There will also examples of Embroideress and EMBROIDERY magazines that we have recently digitized with Exact Editions and an opportunity to buy limited-edition canvas project bags specially printed with covers from Embroideress magazine. On the EG promotions stand there will also be pieces from the Members’ Project “Collections”

If you are interested in buying interesting things for your own work you will find many exciting things to buy including threads, inspiration packs and small items of equipment.

One of the Guild’s aims is to support and promote embroidery and textile artists. We will be hosting a different textile artist each day on our stand, showing examples of their work and signing their recent books.

Over the last 30 years the Embroiderers’ Guild and The Knitting and Stitching Show organisers have selected the very best Embroidery Graduates nationally and showcased them for the wider public to see. This year is no exception. The current work of graduates from 2022 will be with us, highlighting their talent and giving you an opportunity to have a conversation with them about their experiences at university and their aspirations for the future.
